Week 58: Laredo-Casa Blanca

This week was super good. We got a lot done! The most solid person that we found is Hector. He is living with a less active right now. He also came to church two weeks ago with other misisonaries so that was cool! He made it to church this Sunday as well. We haven't been able to teach him too much but we will try this week but it might be hard becasue he is getting surgery.

I love you so much! Thank you so much for all that you do for me! I hope you have an amazing birthday!!!!! I love you so much!!!

Love, Elder Hurst

Elder Weight crashed for the first time this week!

We had a training in  district meeting about finding the prepared investigators. To represent this we searched for hot tamales buried in pudding with our mouths and blindfolded.

Our investigator Jeremy showed us a shortcut through Laredo! Due to flooding Laredo has a huge tunnel system and we rode in it this week! I have always wanted to so that was something checked of my Laredo bucket list! He also went to a branch activity!!!

You never know what you'll find in a less active member's home. I found two crossbows.

This was the jist of the week. It was super fun!!! It went by super fast though. but i love you all. The church is true!

Week 57: Laredo-Casa Blanca

This was a pretty great week! We worked in two areas so there was lots of biking involved! But we had a great time and got to visit tons of members and teach some investigators. We found a really cool kid. His grandma is an active member in the Spanish branch and we were over at her house eating and we invited him to sit in and listen to the message. We invited him to church and also to be baptized! He said he wants to change his life! He had been doing some not so good things and wanted to change. He unfortunately  couldn't make it to church but we are going to help him and he should be going to mutual tomorow! So things are looking good in our area! Lot of work to do! There are so many prepared people waiting for us!!! We just have to find them!

Week 56: Laredo-Casa Blanca

Well this has been a super amazing week! My son is named Elder Weight. He is from Portland, Oregon! His first day in the mission was his birthday! Luckily I stayed in Laredo so I was able to make a few phone calls and get him a birthday cake!! Nothing says welcome to the mission better then a face full of cake!!! Things are going great. Our new area is Casa Blanca. We are reopening i,. but its super awesome!!! There are lots of prepared people!! We pretty much just invited everyone to come to church beacause that is the first step! And on Sunday Jackie came! She is super cool! We are going to teach her and help her get baptized! I love Laredo!

Week 55: Laredo

Well it looks like my time in Laredo is shortly coming to an end:(  We haven't gotten the official word on transfers yet but on Saturday I got a call from the AP's that I am going to train next transfer! So I went to Mcallen on Saturday and received some special training. I'm most likely going to white wash train! So that will be interesting!

This week was super good! It went by super duper fast!  Fina and her daughter came to church again! They are prosgressing super well. It's been super cool to see them progress in the gospel. I can truely see the gospel changing her life. They love the scriptures and love coming to church. I'm super sad that I'm not going to be here for their baptism. Stephanie also is doing well! She said she prayed about the Book of Mormon and got an answer. But she went to Austin and couldn't make it to church. They are our main investigators right now.

The members here are super amazing. I'm going to be super sad to leave. When I first got here we barely ate and now we eat every day without fail and most weekends at least two times. I love the members here so much and everybody here in Laredo. I'm nervous about what is going to come next but I know that the Lord will be our guide. In the trainers meeting they talked alot about obedience and being an amazing example for our new companions. I know that is what is going to help them! I'm super excited for what is going to happen! I think it's funny that I'm receiving a son the same transfer Amberly and Kevin are!!! That's cool!!!

I love you so much!!!
