Week 49: Laredo

Well this week was easily the fastest week of my mission.

We spent a lot of time with our investiagor JJ. He is super hungry to know about the church. It's crazy how much he wants to learn. We just had to check and make sure he was doing it for the right reasons. He was open and told us in the beginning that he just wanted to learn so he could bascially prove it wrong but we have had many lessons and I think that he is understanding everything better.

Alan also went to the temple and did baptisms for the dead!! I was super proud of him!!!

Tommorow is transfers and we still don't know what will happen. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to stay here in Laredo but you never know what the Lord has in store for us.

This week was really good! It wasn't too hot but it's starting to get there. People say that we have been lucky and usually it's already well over 100 this time of the year. I can't even imagine that! Sometimes we walk outside and I feel like we just walked into an oven! But i love it so much. The people here are super loving and charitable and are willing to help us out. I really love everyone here. I'm excited for wherever this new transfer will take me. I'm pretty sure that elder Rosero and I will both stay but I'm not sure. We will find out some time today! I do know however that God will put me where he needs me and I will be where he wants me to be.

This week was awesome! I hope that you all have an amazing 4th of July!!!

Week 48: Laredo

Well they always say that you change on your mission and this week i found out the truthfulness of that! Before the mission i refused to eat tomatoes but now i love them! (You were right mom). I also ate korean food which was super good and menudo (Cow Stomach) for the first time. The menudo was pretty iffy but hey i tried it!

We saw lots of miracles this week! Our investigator Antonio came to church for the third time. We are working on helping him get an answer if he should get baptized next week. We are going to work with him super hard.

Also a member told us about his friend and we went and taught him. He is super super smart. I never have taught a smarter person. He is 20 and knows his bible super well. We taught him the restoration and he had a couple of doubts but is willing to learn and to read the book of mormon. I alreardy know he is going to be an awesome missionary! He came to church for the whole three hours after being at his church for 7 hours so he is super dedicated!

Alan is going to the temple this week to do baptisms! His mom will proably go with him as well if she can get a recommend in time. His brother Albert has to get baptized again so we are going to reteach him everything. He already knows it all!

We saw lots of miracles this week! the Lord blessed us so much.

We also had Zone Confrence so it was super awesome to hear from President Maluenda. It's been raining cats and dogs here. But we are doing amazing!!!!

Week 47: Laredo

Sorry this week will have to be pretty quick!

But this was an awesome week! Alan had the opportunity to pass the sacrament. That was definitly the highlight of the week for me. I've seen him progress so much!  I had the opportunity to pass it with him! It was a super cool experience. He also said the closing prayer in sacrament! He was freaking out but he did awesome! Like two weeks ago he wouldn't even pray for us. He is probably going to go to the temple on the 27th and do baptisms for the dead! Its super crazy how much he has changed.

I got to work with Elder Denney on an exchange. He is from PG as well.  We saw a lot of miracles and found many new people to teach. We just have to try and solidify them now!

Thank you so much for the Ensign! I loved it so much! The messages were all so amazing! That was an awesome idea.

I also gave a talk in the English branch. It was my first time speaking in English! I know that the Lord put words into my mouth because I didn't say anything that I had planned on. I talked about the joy in loving service. It was an awesome topic to speak about. I love Laredo so much!! I hope that I can stay here for the rest of my misson. I'm considering moving here when I'm older! But i hope you all have an awesome week! I love you so much!!!

Week 46: Laredo

What a good week!!! Lots of miracles happened this week! It went by super fast. On Friday we knocked the door of a less active. I had tried by him many times before but he never was there or his mom said he didn't want to talk to us. But we knocked just the right time. It turns out that like an hour before we knocked they had been robbed and pretty much all their stuff was taken. He told us he didn't want to talk about god at that moment. We told him that this is when he needed god most. He started to cry and told us to come back on Saturday. So we did and had an awesome lesson with him. He is 20 but was baptized at 13. He hadn't been to church in a long time. He took a little detour in his life and made some bad choices. But he has already started to change and repent. He has abandoned his old life and is willing to start over. He came to church on Sunday as well. It was awesome to see him catch up with friends he had known when he was going to church.

Our investagor Maricruz came to part of sacament meeting as well!! That was awesome. But she also went to her catholic church. We are going to focus a lot with her this week on the Book of Mormon. We are going to help her know that it is true.

Alan got the Priesthood!! It was a nice suprise!! I was super happy for him. I'm seeing him change. We just have to help him keep doing the little things and feel comftorable at church.

We also had a surprise meeting with President Maluenda. We had it with all the branch Leadership as well. He told us that we are super close to becoming a stake we just have to focus on priesthood. So we are going to do that!!!

It was an aweomse week. I wish i could write everything that happened!! But have an awesome week!!!

I don't want to know what happened to this car….

Me and Elder Falcon have been in the same zone for 6 transfers. He has been in the same zone as me for all of my mission except for 1.5 months!!!

WE got some sweet haircuts from Alan!

Week 45: Laredo

I'm not sure where this week went! It went by super fast.

We started off the week with an inter-zone exchange! So iIhad the opportunity to go work in the Lardo South zone!!

I got to go work with Elder Eskelson!! I lived with him for my first three weeks of the mission so it was super fun to catch up with him!  We had a lot of fun working down in the south! We went to visit their branch president down there. He is super cool. He gave us a referal to go visit a less active, so we went and visited him. He was ready to come back! I learned that we need to follow the preisthood. They know what's best.

Our area is doing pretty good! We had a lot of fun. A part member family came to church this Sunday! We hope that they will keep coming and doing the things that we teach them. Also we had a confirmation. It was super good. I'm super happy for him.

It rained super hard on Saturday. It was fun though! I will try and put some pictures on. It was a super good week here in Laredo!!! I hope that you all have an awesome summer!!!!!!
