Week 88: Hidalgo

Hello family!!! I have like ten minutes to email today so I am just going to combine my email to you guys!! I love you all so much and am super happy that you had an amazing Easter Sunday!!! My Easter Sunday was pretty hectic! I have been on an exchange for the last three days with the zone leaders and wasn't able to go to my own ward for church. But it's all good. One of the zone leaders here, Elder Morgan is also the branch president in one of the branches in the zone and so this Sunday I went with his companion Elder Jensen so that he could have a companion. 

It looks like you all had an amazing time at grandmas house!! I bet that was super fun!! I'm glad that Jake could come up and visit with the family! It seems like he fits in super well. I'm glad that everyone was happy and celebrated the resurrection of our Savior. 

We have been teaching the boyfriend of a less active. He is pretty interested in learning more. They are a cute little family. They have a 3 year old daughter that has cleff lip and reminds me of Cammie so much! I will try and get a picture and send it to you guys next week. They didn't make it to church and I'm not sure why so we are going to swing by and figure out what is going on. 

The time is flying by super fast. I love my mission. It is amazing!!! Have an awesome week!!!

Week 87: Hidalgo

Well this was a super good week!! On Tuesday we had zone confrence! President Maluenda isnpired us all super well. He helped us realize all the things that we can do better. He talked a lot about our focus. I realized that I wasn't focused as much as I need to be at this time in my mission. So this week we made some changes and were focused! We found a lot of cool people this week. We had two miracles with the same less active family. After our Monday meal apointment we went by one of the less active neighbors and one of the referals we had gotten from the meal appointment was with the less active family and we were able to teach a little! She is super interested in learning more!! She just will be in San Antonio for two weeks. Then on Sunday we went back to the same family and one of the daughter's husband was there. The daughter has been wanting us to teach her husband. We just haven't been able to coordinate everything but it happened! We are going to start teaching him as well!!! It was a super awesome week.

We also made the mistake of going to a wedding this week. I learned an important lesson, if you are trying to focus as a missionary going to a wedding is an awful idea!

Week 86: Hidalgo

This was  a pretty good week!! On Tuesday I got my new companion, Elder Alonso. He was already in the zone so I have known him for a while. He is an awesome missionary. We had two super good lessons with Brother Esquivel!! He also came to church!!! I'm super excited for him. I will go to the temple with them in a year!!! I'm super excited for them!!! We did two exchanges this week. They went pretty well. We got rained on super hard the other day and now it has been super hot! It feels like the Texas McAllen mission again!!!

Week 85: Hidalgo

Well we still don't know what is going to happen. I honestly think I might leave. I just can't picture myself working in this area without Elder Bailey! But we will find out soon enough!! This last week was a very good week for Elder Bailey. He finished his mission really strong. I'm super proud of him. I'm sure that you will have the opportunity to meet him soon!! 

This week was pretty good! We have been saying goodbye to a lot of people the last couple of days. Elder Baliey is super sad to leave. He was here for such a long time and loves it!! Today has been pretty hectic just trying to get everything ready for Elder Bailey to leave. But we got it all worked out!! I should know pretty soon what is going to happen! I'm sure that you will find out somehow through the grape vine!

Week 84: Hidalgo

Well this was a pretty good week. On Tuesday we did an exchange. I was working with elder Randall in my area. We had a super good day. Then on Wednesday we had an exchange with the zone leaders. Elder Jensen came and worked with me in my area. It was super cool being reunited as MTC comps!! We had a pretty good day as well! We stopped by the church real quick so elder Jensen could use the bathroom. I saw a guy outside looking in so after elder Jensen was done we told him to come back and we showed him the church and had a lesson with him. He is a little socially awkward. We set up a lesson for the next day and he showed up! But he didn't say a single word the whole lesson and then got up and left. It was super weird. 

We had a lesson with the boyfriend of a member that has been to church twice. He is pretty cool! The members have been working with him alot! He knows a lot about temples.... hahahhah but he has some doubts about Joseph Smith. At first I was a little afraid he might just be going for his girlfriend but I think he really has desires to learn. So we are going to keep working with him!!

Maleny was able to get confirmed!! It was a super close call but she made it. She literally walked out of the car and into the seat to get confirmed. But it happened!!! She is doing super well!

This is going to be a fun last week with elder Bailey!!!!
