Week 90: Hidalgo

This week was pretty good! On Tuesday we had three meal appointments. We ate with an active family and then Marcus, our investigator took us out to Wing Stop and then we ate at 8 with a less active and her boyfriend that is our investigator. So it was super awesome! I didn't feel very good the next day but we had some good lessons and were able to get a lot done. On Wednesday I did an exchange and went with the other elders in their area! We were able to find a super cool part member family. They are going to start coming back so the daughter can get baptized. On Friday I got to do a baptismal interview with someone that the other elders are teaching. He is super prepared. He was in jail for 19 years and just barely got out. He will probably have to get interviewed by President Maluenda. He is super humble.

Well the transfer is quickly coming to an end. Last Monday after I finished emailing I was waiting for my companion to get out of the bathroom and one of the workers here at the library started to talk to me. I got her information and later on during the week we went by her house and had a lesson with her. She is taking care of one of her friend's sons from Mexico and wanted him to hear the lesson as well. So he came out and we started talking. The lady asked our names and like every other person was confused about why we both had the name elder and then the kid explained to her that it means missionary. We were both a little confused and it turns out that the kid was baptized in Mexico! He has been inactive for a while but wants to come back! It was another lost sheep found. On my mission I have found so many less actives that have lost all contact with the church. I love helping the lost sheep find their way back home! The church is true!!
Love, Elder Hurst
